This ia a first of its kind treatment program designed by nephrologists to provide vital care for people in stage 1, 2 and 3a of kidney failure.

Delivered by allied health professionals

Patients will work with a large multidisciplinary team providing a mix of 1 on 1 consultations, online learning, group therapy and regular contact to slow the progression of their kidney failure.

About Dr. Suman Behera

Dr. Behera is trained in Nephrology and Internal Medicine. She is board-certified by Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She also serves as a board member in the ISN (International Society of Nephrology) - North America Region, is a core member of the ISN i3C working group, which is the international Consortium of CKDu Collaborators, a cross disciplinary network to facilitate collaboration and information exchange throughout the globe.

We’re looking to enroll patients in this nephrologist-led program with a GFR of 45-90 and any of the following indications:

  1. Diabetes and Hypertension
  2. Established Cardiovascular Disease
  3. Obesity
  4. Smoking
  5. First Nations Origin > 30 years

Diet and exercise support is overseen by a Neprohologist and delivered by diabetes educators, nurse practitioners, dietitians, and allied health professionals.
